Clocks & Monsters


A time-teaching toy, designed to improve analog clock literacy.


With the rise of digital screens, younger generations are losing the ability to read analog clocks. This project, designed and prototyped in 6 weeks addresses that challenge in a fun, educational, and engaging way.

Instructions for Play


Design Brief


Design a fun toy that teaches an important learning concept that is age appropriate for a 4,5, 6 or 7 year old child. The toy must be designed to be age appropriate, fun, and fit the scale of the child as well as the needs of other stakeholders such as caretakers.

Personas, User & Market Research, Insights

Target user persona with demographics, personality, location, and favorite brands. Market research on currently existing time teaching toys and a white space opportunity map. Background research on why younger generations (Gen Z and Gen Alpha) are struggling to read analog clocks, insights backed up with studies and statistics.



Final Concept & Prototype

Design criteria, features, CAD models, sketch iterations, and physical prototypes.
