monolith

An event calendar for an interactive atrium experience.

Developed over 13 weeks by four Industrial Design students at Georgia Tech, Monolith reimagines the College of Design atrium as an inviting and intelligent hub of activity. Drawing inspiration from perpetual calendars, HAL 9000, and iPhone, this dual-concept transforms our atrium into a dynamic space for engagement and exploration.

Monolith functions as a sleek, centralized information system—streamlining wayfinding and delivering timely event updates to students and faculty. Prism, its complementary counterpart, focuses on storytelling: translating data into visual experiences and showcasing artifacts that celebrate design, innovation, and the campus community. Together, Monolith and Prism aim to elevate the atrium from a transitional space to a destination—informative, interactive, and inspiring.
